Drainfield Installation
Drainfield and Leach Field Installation in Spartanburg
The drainfield is where treated effluent leaves the tank and disperses into the soil, and it is the part of the system that fails first when it is undersized or clogged. Sisteroutsiderpoetry builds gravel trench fields, plastic chamber systems, and engineered mounds across Spartanburg, each sized from the percolation rate so wastewater soaks away instead of surfacing in the yard.
Why the Field Design Depends on Your Soil
- Good soil, simple field. Where the perc rate is strong, a conventional gravity trench with washed gravel is the least expensive, longest lasting answer.
- Poor soil, engineered field. Slow draining clay, shallow bedrock, or a high water table calls for a chamber system, pressure dosing, or a raised sand mound to keep four feet of separation to groundwater.
- Even flow matters. A level distribution box splits effluent across every trench, so no single lateral is overloaded while the rest sit dry.
Our Process
We run or review the perc test, calculate the field size from the soil and household load, and lay out trenches or chambers to the county permit. We excavate to grade, place the aggregate or chambers over filter fabric, tie in the distribution box, and backfill to a smooth, seeded finish. A failing older field often surfaces as wet spots or slow drains, and we can replace it before it backs up into the house.
